Given that Everton want £50 million for Barkley with only 1 year left on his contract, Spurs should be asking at least £70 million to put them off!

Why would City be confident they can get Walker for £40 million? That is just the opening figure they had their friends in the media put out as being how much they were "prepared to pay" as part of the now familiar tapping-up process. It is not in any way, shape or form binding on Daniel Levy and Tottenham Hotspur. And why should it be?

Walker is coming into his peak years and on a long contract. He is a home grown player. City paid £50 million for John Stones and the market is inflated thanks in no small part to City. They are direct rivals and allegedly refusing to sell to Spurs as they are direct rivals. They have basically tapped-up Walker. Does any really believe that Daniel Levy isn't going to squeeze City until the pips squeak? He will and there is no way that City will get away with the low-ball price they put out as their tapping-up process nor with how much they paid for a rookie in a less buoyant market. If they want him that much they will have to put their money where their mouth is!

If lfc was intrested thy should of put in a bid way befor this evn wen the story came up why didnt we put in a bid ?
